Our Feature Program Elder connect

Our Elder Connect program is in conjunction with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.

The objective of the Elder Connect Program is Loneliness Reduction and Digital Literacy Awareness

The  project envisions a community where Elder adults feel connected, engaged, and valued. Through intentional intergenerational connection activities, sharing health and wellness resources, and with technological empowerment, we aim to combat social isolation, increase access, and build a stronger, more connected community. The Program has three primary aims:

  1. Reduce the impacts of loneliness and isolation among a Black Boston Elders through a partnership of EHCDC and MCPHS health-sciences college students.
  2. Deliver an 11-week Operation Elder Connect program to  create intergenerational linkages between MCPHS students and Black Boston Elders. The joint undertaking  will  equip Elders with the necessary skills to navigate their medical patient portals.
  3. Advise participants on how  to access and evaluate electronic sources of health and social connection information.
